15 Beautiful Collage Style WebPages for Inspiration

The word collage is derived from the French word “collar” which means “glue”. It is basically a technique of art production, mainly used in the visual arts, where the work in question is made from bits and pieces of different materials, sticking them or gluing them together on a canvas, thus making a new whole. Don’t think it is an art only for the nursery classes. Giants of painting world like Braque and Picasso have been credited with the invention of collage art. Who of the two actually invented this art is a question not settled till date. Both claim that he was the first one who invented the technique. Both of them left the work that they did between 1907 and 1914, undated and unsigned.

A collage may in some cases include newspaper clippings, ribbons, pieces of colored or handmade papers, parts of other text material like a magazine page, photographs, etc. and all of them are glued together to form new shapes.
